• Waist Beads (Mmuo, Dɔ, or Jigida): Among Akan, Ga, and Ewe communities, waist beads are tied to milestones such as puberty rites like Bragoro, marriage, or childbirth. They are also worn for sensuality, confidence, and body awareness — strands shifting as the body changes.
• Bracelets: Beaded and metal bracelets are worn to signal identity, heritage, and spiritual protection. Gold bangles (abɔdwe) are cherished in Ghana as heirlooms and symbols of wealth, passed down across generations.
• Anklets: Traditionally worn during festivals and dances, anklets emphasize rhythm and movement. They may also serve as charms believed to attract blessings or offer protection, while expressing femininity and grace.
